Greetings! My name is Niko, and I’m a business marketing major at Southern Oregon University who is also pursuing an internet marketing and e-commerce certificate. I chose to pursue a career in marketing because I value the art and strategy behind connecting ideas, products, and services with people.

My mission is to not only drive success but also make a lasting impact on people’s lives—whether it’s by improving efficiency, fostering innovation, or creating solutions that address real-world needs. I’m constantly inspired by the potential to turn ideas into reality and deliver transformative results that empower individuals, communities, and industries.

Hobbies and Activities

In addition to a career in marketing, my diverse interests fuel my creativity and drive. From fitness actives such as outdoor adventure, playing sports, and strength training to my passion for the arts and music, I find inspiration in a variety of experiences that provide my lifestyle with balance. Among these interests, music stands out as a life-long passion for me, whether it’s playing instruments, composing songs, or recording tracks, it’s a creative outlet that fuels my imagination and creativity. These varied interests not only enrich my personal life but also help my approach to work, enabling me to bring fresh and unique perspectives to every project I undertake.

My Professional Journey

My professional journey has been defined by a variety of roles that have equipped me with a strong foundation in marketing and business. As a freelance web designer, graphic designer, and marketing consultant, I’ve had the privilege of working with small businesses to craft responsive WordPress websites, develop compelling brand identities, and execute impactful social media strategies. These experiences taught me the importance of clear client communication, technical expertise, and creativity in delivering high-quality solutions that meet diverse business needs.

Work Experience

In addition to freelance and consulting work, my time as a retail sales associate for Skechers footwear added another valuable layer to my skillset. In this role, I honed my customer service and salesmanship abilities while gaining firsthand insights into retail operations. Working in operations at Guitar Center further broadened my expertise, enabling me to manage inventory, streamline processes, and enhance store efficiency. Each of these roles has contributed to my professional growth and prepared me for future challenges in the ever-evolving business landscape.

Most recently, my involvement with the Southern Oregon University Soccer Club allowed me to combine my love of the sport with creativity and marketing. In this role, I design and implement social media content and campaigns that elevate the club’s visibility and engagement, using visually dynamic designs to reinforce the club’s identity. These leadership and marketing roles have deepened my belief in the power of collaboration, creativity, and teamwork as essential tools for success.

Academic Achievements

Academically, I’ve always been driven to learn and grow in different subjects. To mention, I’m proud to hold an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing at Southern Oregon University, which I expect to complete in June 2025. Over the course of my academic journey, I’ve also earned recognition as a member of both the PTK and NSLS Honor Societies for exemplary grades and made the President’s and Provost’s Honor Rolls list at both schools that I’ve attended. These achievements throughout my academic career reflect my dedication to continuous learning and my determination to excel not just academically, but in all aspects of life.

Student Leadership Experience

In addition to my academic and professional endeavors, I’ve embraced opportunities to step into leadership roles that allow me to give back to my community. As a University Resident Assistant at SOU, I aim to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for fellow students, providing them with academic guidance, personal support, and resources to enhance their campus experience. This role gave me the chance to develop strong organizational and communication skills while creating a sense of community.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, my ambition is to establish myself as a dynamic marketing professional, starting by working for a company whose values, mission, and innovation I admire. I envision this role as an opportunity to not only refine my expertise in creating impactful marketing strategies but also to collaborate with like-minded professionals who share a commitment to professional excellence.

I also plan to utilize my academic foundation, professional expertise, and entrepreneurial mindset to launch my own business ventures. These ventures will allow me to merge my creativity and strategic business thinking with a desire to address unique market needs. I aspire to create businesses that foster meaningful connections with customers, as well as leave a positive impact in their respective industries.
